IMB | Thailand 2025: Day 2

Day 2 by Ryder Vlach

Good Morning all, this is Ryder Vlach reporting to you from what feels like another world!I attended McCracken County High School located in Paducah Kentucky, which also happens to be my hometown. I am currently a sophomore at Massachusetts Maritime Academy. I was chosen to write about day 2  and boy was it eventful.

The morning started out unlike any other as we boarded our 14 hour red eye plane, destination Hong Kong, China. My stomach was killing me with nerves. However, the plane ride was not nearly as dreadful as I thought it was going to be. On the contrary, I was able to get a good amount of sleep on the plane, it didn’t make my ears hurt at all, and we got to eat some food on the plane too.I knew that it was going to be a long day of travel and that it wasn’t going to be fun, but I knew that the days ahead were going to be awesome. While I was at the airport I took advantage of the time that I had with my friends while we waited to board. We talked about what we thought we were going to see and the things that we wanted to do while we were there.

Our layover in Hong Kong was more of the same just waiting to get to our final destination. We were received by the AIT team and Dr. Ghosh at Bangkok airport. Once we were loaded, we were on our way to AIT.  I knew that they drove on the opposite side of the road as us but it was still hard to get used to.We were given a quick tour of the beautiful campus and checked into our rooms.
