Today, January 7th, we have finally arrived in Asheville, NC after a 3 day delay due to the winter weather crossing through the United states. We arrived at Logan Airport at 7:00 am for our 9:45am flight. We boarded around 9:20. Before we took off they had to de-ice the plane. That took 30 minutes. After all of there inspections were done, we headed to the runway. The plane was about to take off and the pilot realized there was still ice on the right wing so we had to wait and head back to the terminal for more de-icing. After all of that was done we finally were on our way to Asheville, NC after that 2 hour delay. We were experiencing emergency management without even realizing it. After the airport we stopped at the gas station. Something I noticed was that all the gas pumps were out of order because of the ice storm they got. The residents in North Carolina seem to prepare more severely when winter weather comes their way by filling up on gas and stocking up on food. Driving from the airport to our cabin just looking around you could still see a lot of trees and branches down from Hurricane Helene.
