We’ve made it NOLA!
We touched down in New Orleans after a 3 hr and 20 minute flight. We arrive at Tulane University at around 9:30 am where we’ll be staying for the next 2 weeks. We settled into our rooms and later on a few of us went on a tour with Dr. Cheek of the various amenities we have here on campus and a nice little pastry spot called Pj’s Coffee of New Orleans.
At around 1pm we attend a parade/festival event called Second Line. A few of us enjoyed a cold treat — sno balls– and joined the Second Line.
We had our welcome/ afternoon meeting at 3-4pm. Discussed the itinerary, expectations etc. Lastly, at 6pm we headed out for dinner and took a nice walk around New Orleans neighborhoods.
We wrapped up the day with lovely food at Hangout Ramen.
What a great first day!
